Overview of Special Education / Descripción General de Educación Especial
In New Jersey, Special Education Services are programs and supports provided to students with disabilities to ensure they receive a free appropriate public education (FAPE) tailored to their individual needs. These services are based on a student's unique needs, as determined by an Individualized Education Program (IEP), and can include specialized instruction, related services like speech or occupational therapy, assistive technology, and support programs. The goal is to help students with disabilities succeed in their education and prepare them for future employment and independent living.
Child Find (Ages 3-21) / Búsqueda de Niños ("Child Find") (Edades 3-21)
This is a free service for parents concerned about their child's development in areas such as communication, motor skills, social-emotional skills, or learning. If you suspect your child has a delay, you can refer them by sending a written request to your local school district's Child Study Team. Please review the flyer information HERE.
If you feel your child is in need of Special Services support, please contact us at 856-627-8686.
