Dear Lindenwold High School Community,
It has come to our attention that a game known as "Senior Assassin" has been promoted among some students within the Lindenwold High School community. Per student discussion, it is believed this game may begin on Friday, May 3rd and last for several days. However, in anticipation of "Senior Assassin," we wanted to address this issue with our community, and make it clear that we do not condone this game or any actions associated with it.
For those who may not be familiar, "Senior Assassin" is a game that involves participants "assassinating" their assigned targets by hitting them with a designated object (water gun, air-soft gun, etc.). While we understand this game may seem harmless and students may engage with no malicious intent, engagement in "Senior Assassin" has the potential to create a hostile and unsafe environment within our school community.
Participating in "Senior Assassin" can promote aggressive behavior, cause fear and anxiety, detract from the positive and inclusive atmosphere that we strive to maintain within our school, and has the potential for legal consequences, too. There is also the potential to involve unexpected individuals who do not wish to "play."
Please remember - bringing a water gun, air-soft gun or weapon replica to school will result in significant consequences for students, and our school Code of Conduct will be enforced at Lindenwold High School.
We ask that you speak to your student about their potential participation in "Senior Assassin" and be mindful of their decision making as appropriate school conduct and expectations remain in place for the duration of the school year.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely, Fred Geardino
Principal, Lindenwold High School
