  • EMAIL ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL (9/8/22):

    Lion Families,

We made it! Our first day, overall, was a huge success!  Yes, there were some busing delays and some normal “to-be-expected” glitches along the way, but it was great to see the kids back in our halls and classrooms.

As we work through the return to school process, the following support would be greatly appreciated:

    Uniforms:

All students must wear their Lindenwold School Uniform Dress.  I was VERY impressed with what a great job the students did today. However, we do need to share some reminders:

    - Navy, pale blue, gold, pale yellow, white, or Lindenwold Lion crew neck sweatshirts, cardigan sweaters, or zippered sweatshirts may be worn.

     - Only Lindenwold Lion “HOODIES” may be worn in school.

     - Flip flops, slides, CROCS, etc. may not be worn.  All shoes must be secured to your child's foot.  These shoes are a safety hazard and will not be permitted.  (Yes, Crocs can have a strap behind the heel; however, the students do NOT wear them in this way so   they are not permitted in school.)

If families have a financial challenge which impacts their ability to provide uniform wear for their child(ren), please contact your child’s Principal for assistance.

    Identification Lanyards:

Middle and High School Students were issued temporary identification lanyards today. Middle and High School students must bring their identification lanyards back to school tomorrow and students are expected to wear them tomorrow.

Delivery Information for the “Optional” Uniform Orders in the Pop-Up Shop:

Orders which were place by 8/28/22 will be delivered by next Thursday, Sept. 15th.  Orders placed after 8/28/22 will be delivered approximately two weeks after the close of the store – which closes on 9/23/22.

Keep in mind – these were OPTIONAL items.  You can still wear: navy, pale blue, gold, pale yellow, white, or Lindenwold Lion crew neck sweatshirts, cardigan sweaters, or zippered sweatshirts.

    Bus Delays:

Please understand there will be bus delays throughout the first 2 weeks of school. Buses will arrive later than usual during both the a.m. and p.m. as bus drivers get used to their routes. This happens in every school district and in every town during this time of year.  Please share your support and your grace with our drivers during this time. They are doing the best they can.

    Bus Drivers:

As I know you are aware, there is a national bus shortage of drivers.  We do not own our own bus fleet so we contract with outside companies to provide this service. If a bus driver is absent and the company is unable to cover that run with a substitute driver, our bus dismissal process is impacted and delayed.  Trust us, it is just as frustrating to us as it is our families.  However, it is out of our control.

After the second week of September, we will resume sending “delayed busing” messages to our families.  During this specific period (the first 2 weeks of school), please just assume your child's bus is delayed.

    Parent Pick Up:

If you plan to pick your child up from school, please notify your child's school in the morning.  When we are aware and able to plan, this is a smooth process. When we are unaware and unable to plan accordingly, this impacts our bus dismissal process.  For each unexpected “pick-up,” it takes time to locate someone's child, call him/her down to the main office or remove him/her from the school bus.  We also hold all buses during this process as a safety precaution which also impacts bus dismissal.

Your help in these matters are GREATLY appreciated!  It takes time to get “back into the routine,” but we will all get there! Overall, it really was a great first day in school. I personally LOVED seeing our students today.  I felt tons of positive energy in our classrooms once again.
