Ryan Strothers – Lindenwold Middle School

"Be the change you wish to see in the world". These are the words that Ryan Strothers lives by every day. Ryan Strothers attended and graduated from Pennsauken High School and Grand Canyon University. While in high school, Ryan thought that he might want to become a teacher. However, it wasn't until one of his teachers challenged his work ethic that he became certain. Ryan's teacher "called him out" for cruising through general course work when he knew that Ryan was capable of so much more. While the words of his teacher stung, it was just the motivation he needed to make some changes in his life.

From that day forward, Ryan wanted to make a similar impact in the lives of children. Ryan first came to Lindenwold Middle School as a substitute and replacement teacher during the 2016-2017 school year. That following September he officially joined the staff as a fifth grade teacher. It is in this position that Ryan strives to challenge his students to think outside the box while encouraging them to reach for the stars. In 2018, he spearheaded The Lion's Den Student Mentoring Program with the mission "to guide LMS Lions towards a brighter future by building healthy and long-lasting relationships with a positive adult influence". The mentoring program continues to grow more and more with each passing year.
